A 41-bed Orthopedic and Progressive Care unit at Butterworth Hospital that cares for a diverse patient population, including both medical and surgical patients, providing team members with broad clinical exposure and opportunities for professional growth.
The orthopedic population includes patients with orthopedic trauma, orthopedic oncology conditions, hip and spine fractures, and those recovering from spine surgery. The progressive care and medical-surgical overflow population includes patients with COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, congestive heart failure, respiratory failure, those requiring cardiac drips or BiPAP support, and post-operative cardiac patients recovering from procedures such as heart ablations and pacemaker replacements.
Assumes shift accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing service/ unit of the hospital. Some service lines may require the ability to be available for on-call to better support the nursing service/unit. Additionally, Inpatient Supervisors may be required to fill-in for the hospital supervisor as needed.
