Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, a certified Primary Stroke Center in Williamsburg, VA, seeks an RN Unit Supervisor for the Acute Cardiac/Stroke/Stepdown unit. This full-time, day-shift role shares 24/7 responsibility with the manager and focuses on safe, high-quality patient care and a superior patient/family experience.

The position requires a BSN or higher, active RN license in Virginia, 2 years of bedside nursing and 1 year of leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Requires BSN or higher.
• Active RN license to practice in the state of employment.
• Minimum 2 years bedside experience; minimum 1 year RN leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patient care services staff to ensure safety and high-quality outcomes.
• Assist manager with budget development and monitoring; coordinate payroll and purchasing.

Supervises patient care services staff to ensure patient safety, provides high quality outcomes and an exceptional patient/family experience; assists manager in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget; coordinates the purchasing and payroll processes; serves as a technical/clinical resource to team members; and performs work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and to mentor/assist staff. Assists manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff members with the goal of developing a highly reliable work team. May coordinate and/or assist with staff education, orientation and precepting of members of the team. Utilizes effective communication/ interpersonal skills and is able to adapt leadership style to support achieving department goals and objectives. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
