Job summary

Oak Hammock at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, seeks a Nurse Supervisor to lead the nursing team, including RNs, LPNs and CNAs. You will ensure high-quality resident care, communicate with families and physicians, and support care plans and medication administration.

The role requires completion of a nursing program, a current Florida license, and strong supervisory and interpersonal skills to serve a diverse senior population.

Qualifications

• Completion of a nursing program at an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Florida nursing license required.
• Valid Driver's License and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct the function of our nursing staff, including LPNs and CNAs.
• Communicate with residents, families, physicians and care staff to ensure well‑being.
• Administer professional nursing services, medications and clinical care per policies.
• Participate in resident care planning and monitor changes in condition.
• Provide routine and non-emergent care to residents.

RN or LPN, will direct the function of our nursing staff, including LPNs, and CNAs. Our Nurse Supervisor will effectively communicate with residents, families, physicians, and other care staff to ensure the optimal well-being of the resident. RNs or LPNs administer professional nursing services, including setting up and passing medications, observing the five rights of medication administration, monitoring for medication effects and/or interactions, participating in resident care planning, recognizing and identifying changes in resident’s condition, responsibly communicating and providing routine and non-emergent care to residents. RNs and LPNs are an essential part of our community, providing the best life and care for our residents.

Nurse Supervisor Job Qualifications and Requirements

Completion of a nursing program at an accredited school of nursing.

At least two years of experience in nursing care in a similar setting is preferred

Possession of a current Florida nursing license

Valid Driver’s License

Must have excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively to staff, residents, families, and community members

Must have effective supervisory skills with the ability to participate in clinical and administrative decision making based on established policies and procedures

Must be empathetic, energetic and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population
