Job summary

Oak Hammock at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to lead our nursing team on the night shift. You will direct LPNs and CNAs and ensure safe, patient-centered care.

Required: accredited nursing program, Florida nursing license, and strong supervisory and communication skills to coordinate with residents, families, physicians and staff. A compassionate, energetic approach is essential, with a Level II background check and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Completion of a nursing program at an accredited school of nursing.
• At least two years of experience in nursing care in a similar setting preferred.
• Possession of a current Florida nursing license
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must have excellent people skills to relate effectively to staff, residents, families, and community members.
• Must have effective supervisory skills with the ability to participate in clinical and administrative decision making based on established policies and procedures.
• Must be empathetic, energetic and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population.
• All applicants must complete and pass a Level II Background Check and Drug Screening

Responsibilities

• Direct the function of the nursing staff including LPNs and CNAs.

Register Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Supervisor, direct the function of our nursing staff other Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, effectively communicate with residents, families, physicians, and other care staff to ensure the optimal wellbeing of the resident. RN/LPN supervisors administer professional nursing services, including setting up and passing medications, observing the five rights of medication administration, monitoring for medication effects and/or interactions, participating in resident care planning, recognizing, and identifying changes in resident’s condition, responsibly communicating, and providing routine and non-emergent care to residents.

RN/LPN Supervisor Job Qualifications and Requirements

Completion of a nursing program at an accredited school of nursing.
