Job summary

Oak Hammock at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL is seeking RN/LPNs to lead nursing staff, support residents and families, and collaborate with physicians to ensure the wellbeing of residents.

The role requires a Florida nursing license, at least one year of nursing experience preferred, and a commitment to compassionate senior care within a vibrant community.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a nursing program at an accredited school of nursing.
  • At least one year of experience in nursing care in a similar setting is preferred.
  • Possession of a current Florida nursing license
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively to staff, residents, families, and community members
  • Must have effective supervisory skills with the ability to participate in clinical and administrative decision making based on established policies and procedures
  • Must be empathetic, energetic and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population
  • All applicants must complete and pass a Level II Background Check and Drug Screening

Responsibilities

  • Direct the function of our nursing staff.
  • Effectively communicate with residents, families, physicians, and other care staff to ensure the wellbeing of the resident.
  • Administer professional nursing services, including setting up and passing medications, observing the five rights of medication administration, and monitoring effects/interactions.
  • Participate in resident care planning and recognize changes in a resident’s condition.
  • Provide routine and non-emergent care to residents as an essential part of our community.

RN/LPN Position Summary

Registered Nurses, or RNs, and Licensed Practical Nurses, or LPNs direct the function of our nursing staff. Registered Nurses/ Licensed Practical Nurses effectively communicate with residents, families, physicians, and other care staff to ensure the optimal wellbeing of the resident.
