Qualifications

  • Must maintain a professional image of the nursing department and institution.

  • Communicates positively with patients, staff and physicians.
  • Performs duties and grows in areas of personal weakness.
  • Arrives punctually and manages breaks efficiently.
  • Maintains proficiency through continuing education and mandatory in-service programs.
  • Keeps patient and staff information confidential.
  • May function as Charge Nurse, Medication Nurse, or Emergency Room Nurse; promotes health education when appropriate.
  • Delegates and coordinates nursing care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Oversees patient care and assigns shifts based on needs and staff skills.
  • Supports discharge, transfers, and admissions; prioritizes nursing care plans.
  • Ensures effective communication and continuity of care.
