Sentara Heart Hospital, located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a Registered Nurse - Supervisor for the Cardiac Operating Room (OR) Team!

Up to $15,000 Sign-on Bonus available for qualified candidates, and relocation assistance can be provided.

The Supervisor of Nursing and Patient Care Services plays a key leadership role in the hospital, supporting the manager in overseeing all patient care activities on their assigned units. Responsibilities include ensuring high standards of care, coordinating daily nursing activities, facilitating communication between medical teams, training, mentoring, and evaluating clinical staff, managing patient care assignments, resolving patient and family concerns, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and safety regulations. They also assist in staffing decisions, maintain inventory for medical supplies, and ensure the unit is properly equipped to provide quality care.

Additional details:

• Location: Norfolk, VA
• Work Shift: Multiple shifts available, full-time rotating shift, on-call requirement, once-a-month weekend call (must live within 30 minutes of the hospital)
• Hospital Highlights: Level 1 trauma center, Magnet designation, nationally ranked heart program, comprehensive stroke center, and more.
• Department Overview: The Cardiac OR has five operating rooms, manages 8+ cases daily, and works with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and others.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree RN
• Virginia RN license or multi-state license
• 1 year of nursing leadership experience
• 2 years of nursing experience in a similar unit
• BLS required within 90 days of hire; ACLS within 1 year
