Job summary

Corewell Health Reed City Hospital seeks an experienced Hospital Supervisor to lead clinical services on overnight shifts. You will coordinate staffing, ensure safety, and mentor staff while supporting high-risk patients and complex runs.

Required MI RN license and BLS; ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 180 days. BSN required within 4 years (or 5 years if hired earlier) with master's preferred. A strong focus on teamwork, patient safety, and continuous improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• Corewell Health Hospital Supervisors are REQUIRED to obtain their nursing administration or professional/specialty certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire in to the role.
• BSN must be obtained within 4 years for those who start in this role on or after Feb 1, 2017 at Reed City facilities.
• BSN must be obtained within 5 years for those who start in this role on or before Jan 31, 2017.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• 2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience required.
• 2 years of recent relevant leadership experience preferred.
• MI RN License required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• ACLS required within 180 days.
• PALS required within 180 days.
• NRP required within 180 days.

• Ensure appropriate use of staff and staffing levels; problem solving and decision making.
• Maintain safe environment by ensuring adherence to safety regs, policies, and procedures.
• Provide supervision and leadership for high-risk patients or unusual situations.

• Consult with Administrator on Call as appropriate.
• Facilitate positive change, quality care and efficient resource use.

Job Summary

An integral part of the care leadership team, the Hospital Supervisor has responsibility for coordination and delivery of clinical services activities on their assigned shift. In the absence of the department or facility leadership, is responsible for appropriate use of staff, staffing levels, immediate problem solving, management decision making and maintaining a safe environment by ensuring adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Provides clinical support / leadership for high-risk patients or unusual situations. Accountable for patient census, observation status and appropriate bed utilization. Communicates with patients, families, and the public to promote positive relations, diffuse problems, and address patient/family concerns/issues; consults with Administrator on Call as appropriate. Provides supervision and leadership to hospital staff in collaboration with unit/department level leaders. Facilitates positive change, quality care and appropriate use of resources in a cost-effective and efficient manner. Demonstrates critical thinking, problem resolution, mentoring/education of staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree Nursing (BSN) must be obtained within 4 years for those who start in this role on or after February 1, 2017, at Big Rapids, Gerber, Kelsey, Ludington, Pennock, Reed City, United, Zeeland.

• Nursing (BSN) must be obtained within 5 years for those who start in this role on or before January 31, 2017, at Big Rapids, Gerber, Ludington, Pennock, Reed City, Zeeland.

• Master's Degree MS, MSN, MBS, MM, MHA, MPH Preferred.

• 2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required.

• 2 years of recent relevant leadership (i.e., Charge Nurse, Shared Leadership position, Magnet Champion, QSO) (based on Corewell Health entity) Preferred.

• MI RN License Required.

• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.

• AHA Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 180 days.

• AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required within 180 days.

• AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Required within 180 days.
