About our unit
Gerber ICU is an eleven-bed unit, including two observation beds and nine inpatient beds. The unit is undergoing updates with new paint, flooring, and artwork. It is a mixed unit with both Med/Surg and ICU patients. Telemedicine services are available in pulmonology, neurology, infectious disease, wound care, and VICU, with upcoming telemedical palliative care. On-site services include MRI (6 days/week), CT, fluoroscopy, general and orthopedic surgery, care management, and medical social work. Our goal is to maintain high-quality local care.
This RN Supervisor role offers growth opportunities, with responsibilities split evenly between administrative tasks and charge duties. The schedule alternates weekly between mid-shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.) and three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.), plus four flexible hours.
Scope of work
The RN Supervisor manages and supervises the nursing unit's operational and financial effectiveness, including clinical support, goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy interpretation, performance improvement, and staff coaching. Some on-call availability may be required. Supervisors may need to fill in for hospital leadership as needed. Certification in Nursing Administration or a related specialty must be obtained within 12 months of starting or becoming eligible.
