Qualifications

• O Minimum of 2years nursing experience preferably in critical care/emergency nursing.
• O Must acquire and maintain 8 CEUs related to Stroke annually
• O Demonstrates competency and professionalism in verbal and written communication.
• O Basic computer literacy with strong verbal and writing skills
• O Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical and stroke terminology.
• O Must have experience in an acute-care hospital environment.
• O Hours are flexible but must be able to work in a high pressure environment subject to multiple and changing priorities and demands.
• O Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities

• An RN reviews medical records and databases, assists and coordinates data collection processes, and demonstrates proficiency in data management.
• Coordinates referrals when physician or departmental review is indicated and assists with regulatory compliance.
• Performs concurrent review and chart studies for trauma, chest pain, and stroke patients; participates in the quality improvement program.
• Provides support to leadership and the System Stroke Program Coordinator for performance improvement activities.
• Assists with educating staff and the community regarding stroke initiatives and care.
• Assists in maintaining Stroke Designation requirements for STHS facilities and develops/improves required actions.
