Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Step Down / Progressive Care Unit to provide care for patients between ICU and medical-surgical units, with frequent monitoring and assessment.

The role requires interpreting cardiac rhythms, managing titrated medications, and rapid response to changes in condition. Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and patient/family education are essential components.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing (Required).
• Step-down, telemetry or acute care nursing experience (Required).
• RN licensure in state of practice (Required).
• BLS and ACLS certification (Required).

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive and frequent assessments of patients requiring close monitoring.
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and intervene for arrhythmias or deterioration.
• Administer medications and IV therapies, including titrated infusions, per physician orders.
• Manage patients with cardiac, respiratory and other complex medical conditions.
• Recognize changes in patient status and elevate to the provider promptly.
• Document care accurately and provide patient education and discharge planning.

Provides nursing care to patients whose acuity falls between intensive care and medical surgical, requiring frequent monitoring and assessment. Interprets cardiac rhythms, manages titrated medications and responds quickly to changes in condition. Coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team and educates patients and families.

Education & Experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: Required
• Step-down, progressive care, telemetry or acute care nursing experience: Required

Licenses & Certifications

• Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required
