Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a 15-bed step down unit serving vascular, cardiac surgery and cardiology adult patients with intermediate and general care levels. The role includes complex drips and drains management and opportunities to advance skills in a level 1 trauma center.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.
• Relevant RN Experience Preferred.
• Licensed RN in WI or compact state; CPR/BLS; ACLS within 6 months; relevant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Practice on a 15-bed step down unit serving vascular, cardiac surgery, and cardiology adult patients with intermediate and general levels of care.
• Care for patients with chest tubes, feeding tubes, insulin drips, vasoactive drips, heparin drips and multiple drains.
• Advance nursing skills at a level 1 trauma center with aneurysm repairs, carotid procedures, limb salvage therapies, bypasses and amputations.
• Participate in shared governance and lead practice changes.
• Work in a patient-and-family focused environment with daily care team visits.
