Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking an experienced RN to join our care team. You will be responsible for a group of patients during your designated time frame, delivering care through the nursing process and collaborating with the health care team.

Must be available in-house within 30 minutes when on call; scheduled weekly hours are 42 with flexible shifts described as 3 on one week and 4 on another.

Qualifications

• Current LA RN License.
• BLS and ALS certification through ILCOR provided courses such as Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.
• PALS certification within 6 months of hire through ILCOR provided courses such as Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 42

Work Shift: Call requirements, can work 3 shifts on 1 week and 4 on another.

Minimum Qualifications

Current LA RN License. Current BLS and ALS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.

PALS certification within 6 months of hire through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.

Preferred Qualifications

Combination of acute medical / surgical nursing required, and critical care or post anesthesia nursing preferred.

Physical Demands

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Physical Effort required:

• Constant (67%-100%) – hearing, seeing
• Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking
• Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping, crouching
