Job summary

DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne, Alabama seeks a Registered Nurse to plan, supervise, and evaluate nursing care in alignment with medical plans and policies. You will assist physicians, perform patient tests, administer medications, and support patient and family education to promote independence.

The role requires an RN license in Alabama, current BLS, ACLS after 6 months, and possibly PALS depending on the patient population. Prior hospital experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current License with the Alabama Board of Nursing; BLS required and ACLS after 6 months; PALS may be required depending on service area.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and evaluate the nursing care of patients and coordinate with the medical plan of care.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures; perform tests and administer medications within RN scope.
• Promote patient independence by teaching patients and families about conditions, medications and self-care.
