Job summary

DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne, AL, is seeking a Registered Nurse to plan, supervise and evaluate patient nursing care, correlating the nursing process with the medical plan of care and hospital policies.

The nurse will evaluate patients, plan, implement and document care, assist physicians during exams, administer medications within the RN scope, and educate patients and families to support self-care. A proactive, team-oriented approach is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Desirable characteristics include at least two years of hospital or medically related experience.
• Current License with the Alabama Board of Nursing. Current BLS required and ACLS after 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Plans, supervises and evaluates the nursing care of patients and coordinates the nursing process with medical plans and policies.
• Evaluates patients, plans, implements and documents nursing care; assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Administers medications within the RN scope of practice and teaches patients and families for self-care.
