Job summary

DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse to plan, supervise and evaluate patient care, coordinating the nursing process with the medical plan and facility policies.

The RN will assess patients, implement and document care, assist physicians during exams, administer medications, and educate patients and families. Requires RN license in Alabama, an associate degree, and BLS; ACLS after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Desirable to have at least two years of hospital/medical environment experience.
• Current Alabama RN license; BLS required and ACLS after 6 months.
• Knowledge of growth and development principles and age-appropriate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and evaluate nursing care; correlate nursing with medical plan and policies.
• Evaluate assigned patients, plan, implement and document nursing care.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures; perform tests and administer medications.
• Promote patient independence through goals and teach patients and families.
• Report to a unit/department manager; operate within standard concepts and procedures.
