Job summary

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is seeking a Department Clinical Education Specialist for the NICU, on-site in Hartford. The role emphasizes nursing education, clinical practice, and interprofessional collaboration to advance professional development and evidence-based practice.

The position reports to nursing leadership and supports 24/7 accountability for learning needs, with a focus on improving patient care quality and safety in a pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience in Professional Development/education is strongly preferred.
• Experience in adult learning and program development strongly preferred.
• Minimum two years of Perioperative nursing experience, preferably in a pediatric acute care facility.
• CNOR or CPAN required within 2 years of hire into the role.

Responsibilities

• On a daily basis, demonstrates clinical expertise and uses the nursing process to provide safe, appropriate patient care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of differences and needs of patients from neonate through adolescence.
• Leads unit by functioning as Resource Nurse and participates in professional development of others.
