Job summary

Tennessee Oncology in Nashville is seeking an Education Specialist, an experienced educator with advanced knowledge in healthcare to lead assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs for team members.

The role includes mentoring staff, developing policies and patient education materials, and collaborating with clinical leadership to align training with safety and quality goals. Travel to satellite clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Recent experience with staff health care education required.
• Certification specialty area is required within 6 months of meeting certification requirements.
• Chemotherapy Certification is required within 3 months of meeting certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive organization-wide education plan for team members and providers.
• Teach and organize classroom and other clinical education programs/pathways.
• Coordinate new hire and annual competency education/evaluations/validations.
• Maintain competency as an expert resource for required technical skills and theoretical/didactic knowledge.
• Mentor and preceptor for new hires to promote a culture of excellence and safety.
• Collaborate with providers and leadership to develop education plans and training materials.
• Create trainings for new or revised equipment, protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements.
