The role focuses on coaching, documentation, QAPI participation, and collaboration with the Director of Quality and Director of Nursing to maintain a well-educated staff and high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Nurse Educator in Long Term Care.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• CPR certification required, CPR trainer certified or willing to become a trainer.
• Ability to educate and coach a wide cross-section of individuals.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff development programs by providing instruction in safety, body mechanics, infection control and regulatory mandates.
• Maintain educational practices by coaching, counseling, and participating in disciplinary processes.
• Record educational activity, attendance and responses.
• Report on active projects and progress daily, weekly and monthly.
• Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing staff programs and services to ensure a well-educated staff.
