Job summary

Harrisonburg Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator to lead orientation for new hires and oversee ongoing staff education, including infection control and clinical skills training. The role reports to HR and collaborates with administration to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed RN
• Knowledge of basic nursing skills (patient assessment, infection control, IV therapy, medication administration, etc.)
• Have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a nurse
• Have a minimum of 2-4 years of clinical training experience.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with the HR manager to provide new hire orientation
• Evaluates the educational needs to ensure on-going continuing education and adherence to applicable required in-service education for all staff.
• Identifies, assesses, and implements in-service programs as needed regarding the satisfactory performance of clinical skills and knowledge.
• Serves as Infection Control Nurse, reports infection control practices to Infection Control Officer and Administrator.
• Manages and provides required education to the entire staff and is also responsible for employee health.
