Job summary

Complete Care at Dawnview is seeking a Staff Development RN to lead education and nursing staff development while directing the Infection Prevention and Control Program to ensure high standards of resident care and regulatory compliance.

You will coordinate onboarding, ongoing education, and annual competencies, mentoring staff, and ensuring competency completion. This leadership role requires a current WV RN license, long-term care experience, and infection prevention expertise.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• Long-term care experience required.
• Infection Preventionist training or certification is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and teaching skills.
• Knowledge of CMS regulations, CDC guidelines, and infection prevention standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate new hire orientation, ongoing education, annual competencies, and mandatory in-service training.
• Mentor and support nursing staff through education, coaching, and clinical guidance.
• Track education requirements, certifications, and competency completion.
• Lead the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program per CDC, CMS, OSHA, state and company guidelines.
• Conduct infection surveillance, investigate outbreaks, monitor trends, and implement prevention strategies.
• Educate staff on infection prevention practices, PPE, hand hygiene, and isolation precautions.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate infection control records, reports and regulatory documentation.
• Participate in survey preparation and serve as a resource for infection prevention and staff education.
