Job summary

Riverside Health System in Smithfield is looking for an experienced RN Specialty Educator to coordinate staff education, assess learning needs, and implement teaching strategies that support high-quality patient care. You will work with the Nurse Manager to ensure readiness across units and shifts.

The role requires an RN with acute care experience and teaching background, Virginia licensure, and current CPR/BLS; ACLS/PALS are preferred.

Qualifications

• RN with acute care experience and teaching background is required.
• Ability to design and deliver education for staff across shifts.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and accreditation expectations.
• Strong collaboration with nursing leadership to improve care.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement teaching strategies for all facility staff levels.
• Assess learning needs and plan educational activities in line with RHS goals.
• Coordinate budgets and resources for training programs.
• Monitor and improve patient care outcomes through education initiatives.
• Ensure staff competency and regulatory compliance across units.
• Provide education and support during shift coverage as needed.
