Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General in Ohio is seeking an RN Specialist to plan, coordinate and implement cardiopulmonary rehabilitation for cardiac and pulmonary patients. The role supports discharge planning and collaborates with the health care team.

The position features 12-hour shifts from 6:30am to 6:30pm with training on specified days; requires Ohio RN licensure, BSN or higher preferred, 2 years of cardiac/critical care or med/surg, and ACLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related health field and/or a master’s degree.
• Current state licensure in Ohio as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Two years of nursing experience in coronary care, critical care and/or med/surg.
• ACLS certification preferred for ideal candidates.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient clinical status and provide rehab services per protocol.
• Educate patients and families about cardiopulmonary diseases and treatments.
• Participate in case management and discharge planning conferences with interdisciplinary staff.
• Document patient progress and collaborate with the healthcare team to meet patient needs.
• Develop rehabilitative goals to prevent progression of heart and lung disease.
