Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm in Corpus Christi is seeking an RN Shift Supervisor (Nurse III) to coordinate and supervise nursing services on an assigned shift, ensuring safe, high-quality care for residents at the Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center.

The role includes mentoring nursing staff, conducting comprehensive assessments, medication administration, and adherence to policies and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, monitor and evaluate nursing services and activities for the assigned area during the shift.
• Provide on-the-job training, mentoring and coaching to nursing staff including RNs and LVNs.
• Administer medications, perform health assessments and treatments, and respond to emergencies as required.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care and the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to nursing leadership and support implementation of changes.
• Provide back-up nursing coverage and participate in disaster and operational readiness as needed.
