Job summary

Doctors Medical Center of Modesto is seeking a Shift Manager for Behavioral Health to coordinate staff and ensure patient care meets the developmental needs of patients served. Reporting to the Director of Patient Care Services, you will apply the nursing process and leadership skills on the designated shift.

You will assess staff needs with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to ensure that patients' needs are met, while maintaining a focus on safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years inpatient psychiatric experience or equivalent.
• Previous supervision experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staff and patient care during the shift.
• Assess unit staffing needs with the staffing coordinator and leaders to ensure patient care quality.
• Lead and motivate staff using nursing process and clinical standards.

Reporting to the Director of Patient Care Services, the Shift Manager utilizes the nursing process and organizational/ leadership skills to coordinate services of staff to patients during the designated shift. Assures patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served. Assesses staff need for the unit, collaborates with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to ensure patients needs are met.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Experience/Skills3+ years inpatient psychiatric experience or equivalent required, Previous supervision experience preferred.
• Licenses/Certificates/CredentialsCurrent: California RN license, BLS certification, valid CA Drivers License and proof of automotive insurance. Behavioral Management Training as mandated by hospital.

Physical Demands

• Frequent standing/walking.
• Lift/position up to 50 lbs.
• Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force.
• Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, manual dexterity and mobility, ability to move quickly.

Vision Requirements

• Ability to adjust vision sufficiently to perform position accountabilities.

COMPENSATION

$53.73 - $85.94 hourly **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
