Job summary

Cone Health is seeking a Nurse Shift Coordinator to manage operational issues related to patient care on site. You will serve as a contact for patients, families, staff, physicians, and external agencies, ensuring clear communication and prompt problem-solving.

The role includes guiding junior staff and supporting nursing administration in their absence to maintain continuity of care and high service standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate RN (ADN, Diploma or Certificate).
• Minimum 3 years RN clinical experience in a hospital or long-term care setting.
• Current North Carolina RN license and BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a clinical resource and reports changes in resident condition to next shift coordinator.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to accomplish department/program objectives.
• Leads staff education training session when directed.
• Provides direct patient care in select patient situations.
• Represents Cone Health values of integrity, outstanding service, innovative climate, caring spirit and financial viability.
• Coordinates patient placement with nurses and social services for admissions and transfers.
