Medical Center SE Texas Port Arthur is seeking a Registered Nurse to direct, plan, and organize nursing activities on the unit for assigned shifts, delivering skilled patient care per nursing process and hospital policies.

The RN will coordinate care among patients, families, and the care team, act as patient advocate, and maintain current knowledge of nursing standards. A charge nurse role emphasizes safety, communication, and teamwork.

Qualificações

• Two years of procedural nursing experience required.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Texas.
• Certification per unit competency (e.g. BLS, CPI).
• NIHS Scale, stroke education, cardiac education and ortho education as per department competencies.

Responsabilidades

• Make patient care assignments based on patient acuity and staff competencies.
• Promote patient-centered safety culture, teamwork, accountability, and efficiency.
• Evaluate and modify patient care assignments as needed.
• Demonstrate clinical reasoning and re-prioritize patient/unit needs when required.
• Assist in orientation, evaluation, and supervision of agency/temporary staff and new nurses.
• Understand suicide prevention and patient restraints for 1:1 care with frequent checks.
• Communicate changes in patient condition, test results, safety and quality concerns.
• Delegate tasks to ensure patient safety per Texas Administrative Code Rule 224.6.
• Activate the chain of command as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements including Core Measures, Infection Control, CMS, NIAHO/DNV, OSHA, and state laws.
