Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to work as a school nurse in the Fort Atkinson, WI school district from November 10 to February 8 (12 weeks). Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:45am–3:45pm.

The RN will provide professional medical care to students, conduct health screenings, coordinate health services, administer medications per IHPs, and educate on health topics. Requires WI RN license, CPR, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the applicable state.
• Two years of successful experience as a school nurse preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Excellent communication skills and English proficiency.
• Must meet health documentation and contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional medical treatment to students.
• Perform health evaluations and early detection of student health issues.
• Coordinate vision, hearing, and orthopedic screenings and general health assessments.
• Support health education, disease prevention, and nutrition education.
• Assist in immunization programs and health instruction.
• Administer medications per student IHP and supervise treatments.
• Maintain clinical records and provide emergency aid as needed.
• Consult with and train school staff on health matters.
• Contribute to health curriculum implementation and student counseling.

Hourly Pay: $40 - $45 /hr

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work with students in the school setting within the school district in Fort Atkinson, WI! This position is a long-term substitute position from November 10-February 8 (12 weeks). The schedule would be Monday-Friday 7:45am-3:45pm!

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing professional, medical treatment to students
• Responsible for early detection of student physical problems and for completing student health evaluations
• Coordinates vision, hearing, and orthopedic screening and health assessments
• Responsible for providing, or assisting teachers with providing disease prevention, nutrition and general health education
• Assists school personnel with the promotion of health education and immunization programs
• Designs and implements student Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) Provides, and/or oversees, student medication administration and medical treatments as required by student’s IHP
• Maintains clinical records
• Provides emergency aid to students and school staff
• Consults with, conducts in-service training for, and serves as a resource person for school staff
• Participates in the implementation of health instruction/curriculum
• Counsels & assists students and parents in health-related adjustments

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in specific state required
• Two years of successful experience as a school nurse preferred
• Valid CPR certification required
• Successful completion of training, testing, and/or additional requirements as stated by contract required
• Excellent Communication skills
• Proficiency in the English language required
• Current Health Certificate (per facility contract or state regulation) required
• Must meet all federal, state, local, and contract requirements
• Technological proficiency including mobile devices for documentation
• Must be at least 18 years of age
