Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to work with students in school settings, health rooms, or school districts in Rhode Island. The role offers competitive hourly pay of $42–$47 and weekly paychecks, plus comprehensive benefits.

You will provide professional medical care, perform health evaluations, coordinate screenings, and support health education and immunization programs. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program preferred.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in RI or required state.
• Two years of school nurse experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional medical treatment to students.
• Detect health issues early and perform student health evaluations.
• Coordinate vision, hearing, and orthopedic screenings and health assessments.
• Provide health education and disease prevention in coordination with teachers.
• Assist with immunization programs and health instruction.
• Develop and implement student IHPs and med administration as required by IHP.
• Maintain clinical records and provide emergency aid.
• Consult with and train school staff on health matters.
• Support health curriculum implementation and student health adjustments.

Hourly Pay: $42 - $47 / per hour

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work with students in the school setting, in the health room or within the school district.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing professional, medical treatment to students
• Responsible for early detection of student physical problems and for completing student health evaluations
• Coordinates vision, hearing, and orthopedic screening and health assessments
• Responsible for providing, or assisting teachers with providing disease prevention, nutrition and general health education
• Assists school personnel with the promotion of health education and immunization programs
• Designs and implements student Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) Provides, and/or oversees, student medication administration and medical treatments as required by student’s IHP
• Maintains clinical records
• Provides emergency aid to students and school staff
• Consults with, conducts in-service training for, and serves as a resource person for school staff
• Participates in the implementation of health instruction/curriculum
• Counsels & assists students and parents in health-related adjustments

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in specific state required
• Two years of successful experience as a school nurse preferred
• Valid CPR certification required
• Successful completion of training, testing, and/or additional requirements as stated by contract required
• Excellent Communication skills
• Proficiency in the English language required
• Current Health Certificate (per facility contract or state regulation) required
• Must meet all federal, state, local, and contract requirements
• Technological proficiency including mobile devices for documentation
• Must be at least 18 years of age
