Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the SANE Program on a per-diem basis in Evanston Hospital's Emergency Department. The role focuses on independent forensic exams, head-to-toe nursing assessments, and documentation for sexual assault survivors.

You will collaborate with ER physicians, survivor advocates, law enforcement, and legal professionals, providing timely, compassionate care while upholding professional standards and participating in related meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• Successful completion and certification of AA SANE training.
• Prior experience in forensic nursing preferred.
• Pass computer literacy for Epic or training after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of SANE with knowledge of forensic collection, STIs, medication and vicarious trauma toward the survivor.
• Attends SANE meetings for peer/chart review and information dissemination to ensure compliance with standards.
• Works collaboratively with the Swedish Hospital ED, Violence Prevention Program, Illinois State and Chicago Police Departments, Resilience, and the Illinois SANE Coordinator.
• Attends courtroom proceedings related to Swedish Hospital sexual assault cases.
