Job summary

North Oaks Health System in Hammond, LA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Same Day Surgery unit. The role involves direct patient care, medication administration, and adherence to NOMC standards. Requires RN licensure in Louisiana and graduation from an accredited nursing program.

Shift is Monday through Friday, 0630–1700, with rotating weekday call until 10 p.m. The nurse participates in QA audits, documentation, and safety procedures as part of the Nursing Service team.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current LA RN license.
• Membership in a professional organization is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Insure the maintenance of quality patient care.
• Utilize nursing process (assess, plan, implement and evaluate) for each patient on an individual basis.
• Administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Document patient response to medication and procedure, using vital sign record, nurses’ notes, and any other form as appropriate.
• Monitor patient receiving I.V. conscious sedation as per policy.
• Administer blood, blood components, hyperalimentation and chemotherapy.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures for self and supervised patients.
• Assist in operational functions and schedule assignments.
• Maintain communications and participate in professional development activities.
• Follow Compliance Program and Federal and State Regulatory guidelines.
