The Fitch unit at 20 Elliot Hospital of the City of Manchester is seeking a Resource Nurse to join a 45-bed acute care medical unit with about 120 staff. You will serve as an on-floor clinical resource, support staff, and contribute to unit operations and quality initiatives.
Requirements include ASN with BSN enrollment or BSN preferred, and a minimum of two years in acute care. NH license or Compact license and BLS are required; specialty cert within six months of eligibility is expected.

The Fitch unit is a 45 bed, Acute Care Medical Unit, with approximately 120 employees. The average patient census is 40 patients and specialties focusing on sepsis, respiratory, diabetes, GI, oncology, end of life, and some surgical. The Fitch unit provides an outstanding supportive environment and advanced training for its staff. The unit also offers a relaxation room for its employees to decompress and relief stress. The nursing staff is supported by a charge RN and team lead, whose focus is to make this the best place to give and receive care. Many years ago, our staff came up with our unit’s own mission and vision. The mission is “Everyone Helps Everyone” and the vision is “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work”. The staff is very involved with quality, improving workflows, and providing input for meaningful change. The Resource Nurse directly oversees and serves as an immediate, first line clinical resource to staff on the floor of Fitch Unit. The RRN will demonstrates well developed clinical competencies appropriate to the floor when providing direct patient care or guiding staff. The position will function as an integral member of the Fitch management team and will work to ensure operations of unit on assigned shift are running efficiently. The RRN will adhere to the values under the EHS Professional Practice Model which guide all dimensions of practice.
