Qualifications

• Nursing school graduate.
• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the unit/department.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or valid Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) multistate RN license.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. NRP is required for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Responsibilities

• Administers bedside patient care in hospital/inpatient setting under supervision of a preceptor, leader, and/or charge nurse.
• Demonstrates critical knowledge and judgement to care for patients requiring complex assessments and therapies.
• Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment and interprets cardiac monitors and other displays.
• Communicates and collaborates with medical staff to plan and manage unit activities.
• Documents patient care in a thorough and compliant manner.
• Participates in unit/organizational committees and supports professional development.
