Job summary

Glenwood Healthcare Center in Princeton, WV is seeking an RN Wound/Treatment Nurse to join a dedicated team within the CommuniCare family of companies. The role focuses on comprehensive wound care, daily treatments, and coordination with physicians to ensure resident comfort and safety.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license in West Virginia, CPR certification, and prior long-term care experience. Wound care certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current RN license in the state where the center is located.
• Wound certification preferred.
• Current CPR certification required, ACLS preferred.
• Prior healthcare experience.
• Experience in treatment nursing is desirable.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatments, dressing changes, ointments, sprays, lotions on residents per center policy and orders.
• Monthly gastric tube and Foley catheter care as assigned.
• Provide trach care and suctioning as needed.
• Document weekly treatment plans in nurse notes and related forms.
• Suggest treatment changes or products to attending physicians.
• Reorder supplies from pharmacy or central supply as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform all treatments, dressing changes, ointments, sprays, lotions, etc. on all residents following center policy and procedures as it pertains to resident privacy, infection control, and physician’s orders.
• Perform routine monthly replacements of gastric tubes and Foley catheters as assigned.
• Perform trach care and suctioning.
• Recommend treatment at least 1 time weekly in the nurse notes, skin grids, pressure sore reports, or other required documents.
• Recommend treatment procedures or products to attending physicians.
• Re-order treatment supplies from pharmacy or central supply as needed.
