Job summary

Petersburg Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced RN Wound/Treatment Nurse in Petersburg, VA. The role involves direct wound care, catheter and feeding tube maintenance, and coordination with physicians to optimize resident care.

The ideal candidate will hold an active Virginia RN license, maintain CPR certification, and have prior long-term care experience with wound management. Supervision experience is a plus and the center is part of the CommuniCare family.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current license as a RN in Virginia.
• CPR certification current; ACLS preferred.
• Prior healthcare setting experience.
• Desirable: wound care certification and supervisory experience in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Perform wound care procedures including dressings, ointments, and other treatments.
• Coordinate routine monthly care such as gastric tubes and Foley catheter checks as assigned.
• Perform tracheostomy care and suctioning as needed.
• Document treatment recommendations weekly in nurse notes and related records.
• Collaborate with physicians to adjust treatments and order supplies.
