Job summary

Elderwood at Burlington is hiring an RN Unit Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership for the Nursing unit. You will guide resident care, mentor staff, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.

This Full-Time role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and improving resident outcomes in a supportive environment with weekly pay and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Current Vermont RN license (or eligibility through reciprocity).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
  • At least one (1) year of nursing leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Long-term care or geriatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Dementia care experience is a plus.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A collaborative leader who builds trust and mentors others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized nursing care plans.
  • Coordinate resident care with physicians, therapists, and the care team.
  • Mentor and support nursing staff while fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the nursing unit to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance.

RN Unit Manager Overview

As our RN Unit Manager, you'll provide both clinical and operational leadership for your assigned nursing unit. You'll oversee resident care, support and develop your nursing team, collaborate with interdisciplinary departments, and help ensure every resident receives compassionate, high-quality care in a safe and welcoming environment.

What You'll Do


  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized nursing care plans.

  • Coordinate resident care alongside physicians, therapists, social services, and the interdisciplinary care team.

  • Mentor, coach, and support nursing staff while fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of your nursing unit to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance.

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff.

  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, staff development, scheduling, and performance management.

  • Monitor clinical documentation, resident outcomes, and quality initiatives.

  • Participate in leadership meetings and continuing education opportunities.

  • Encourage innovation, recognize outstanding staff performance, and continuously look for ways to improve resident care and employee engagement.


What We’re Looking For


  • Current Vermont RN license (or eligibility through reciprocity).
