Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama seeks a registered nurse for the Telemetry Unit. You will provide direct patient care, monitor conditions, coordinate with the care team, and support discharge planning with physicians and nurses.

Full-time day or night shifts (12 hours) are available. A bonus program offers up to $20,000 for eligible full-time, 7-on/7-off weekend positions at UAB St. Vincent's East, Trussville, AL.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire required.
• RN license in Alabama or eligible to be licensed.
• Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program and licensure at hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care per policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans and communicate condition.
• Coordinate discharge planning with healthcare team.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

6Northis a private,18 bed unit that specializes in the care of patients with a diagnosis or co-morbidities that warrants telemetry monitoring.Nurses on this unitwill developor advance theirskillsto detect medical or cardiovascularissues, communicate with providers, and discover interventions to prevent emergent situations. Responsibilities for nurses on this unit includeassessments, rhythm interpretations, lab value analyses, patientand family education, wound care, IVmanagement, and medication administrationand management.Advanced technology in the form of telemetrynursing support is enabled to helpbedside staff treat patients with the highest level of care.

Job Description

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.


• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.


• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.


• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
