Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking an RN for the Surgical PCU at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, FL. You will provide bedside care to post-op abdominal and thoracic patients, following nursing process and clinical standards.

The role requires BLS and RN licensure, with ACLS and specialty certification preferred. 6 months of RN experience is expected, with nights shift 6:45 PM–7:15 AM and occasional weekends, in a full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required.
• BLS certification required; RN license required.
• 6 months RN experience required; acute care/team-based setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently care for a group of post-op surgical patients using nursing process.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to health care team members.
• Maintain professional accountability and participate in ongoing development; serve as preceptor/charge nurse when assigned.

This PCU unit is responsible for taking care of post op abdominal and thoracic surgery patients.

The RN responsibilities include:

• Independently caring for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegating appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team.
• Professional accountability and development.
• Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned.
