Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver direct nursing care and coordinate comprehensive patient care on the 4 South Med/Surg Stepdown unit. You will implement care plans, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for safe discharges.

The role requires Alabama RN licensure, BLS and ALS compliance within specified timelines, and a Diploma in nursing. Settings include multiple 12-hour shifts in a teaching-focused environment.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire. American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted.
• ALS (Advanced Life Support) required within 180 days of hire.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed by Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in alignment with policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and execute physician and nursing orders.

Job Description
