Job summary

UAB Medicine is recruiting a Registered Nurse for UAB St Vincent's Birmingham to provide direct nursing care and coordinate multidisciplinary care on the 3 Main, MedSurg department. This PRN position supports flexible scheduling to meet patient needs and ensures high-quality care across care teams.

The role requires a nursing diploma, active RN licensure in Alabama, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire, with at least one year of RN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; records and communicates patient condition.
• Acts as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required. One year of RN experience is required
