Job summary

BayCare Health System in Clearwater, FL is seeking an experienced RN for the ICU to provide compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will work days in the Morton Plant ICU, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support critically ill patients and their families.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, interpreting vitals, administering medications, and coordinating care with physicians. Requires active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and ICU experience.

Qualifications

• RN license (active) with ICU experience.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Diploma/Associate/Bachelor degree in Nursing or higher.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ICU patients and document care using nursing process.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team.
• Support discharge planning and family communication.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care.

Positions details:

• Location: Morton Plant Hospital – Medical/Surgical ICU – Clearwater, Florida
• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
