CompassionCare Hospice in Las Vegas is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse to join our team. You will provide hands-on end-of-life care, support families, and collaborate with an on-call team to deliver compassionate services after hours.

The role emphasizes clinical excellence, timely documentation, and adherence to hospice protocols while supporting patients in their homes or facilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current licensure to practice in state of operation.
• One year nursing experience required, 3+ years preferred.
• Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence.
• Must be a licensed driver with automobile insured and in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Remote Triage On Call Team to deliver hands-on care during after-hours (if Remote Triage exists).
• Deliver hands-on care to hospice patients and support families during on-call hours.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately.
• Administer medication or adjust care per hospice protocols or orders.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in condition and obtain orders.
• Offer guidance to patients and families about current condition and next steps.
• Pronounce death when occurring during on-call hours and notify hospice team.
• Complete timely documentation and communications.

As a On-Call RN You will:

• (CHOOSE ONE: If office HAS a Remote Triage team) Collaborate with Remote Triage On Call Team to deliver hands-on care to hospice patients and offer supportive services to their families during after-hours, on an on-call basis

• (CHOOSE ONE: If office DOES NOT have Remote Triage) Deliver hands-on care to hospice patients and offer supportive services to their families during after-hours, on an on-call basis

• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately

• Administer medication or adjust care based on hospice protocols or provider orders

• Communicate with the physician regarding changes in condition and obtain orders as necessary

• Offer guidance and support to the patient and family in understanding the current condition and anticipating the next steps

• If a death occurs during on-call hours, the RN will go to the home or facility to pronounce death, provide support to the family, contact the funeral home, and notify the hospice team

• Complete timely documentation and communication
