Job summary

BayCare Health System in the Tampa Bay area seeks a Registered Nurse specialized in hemodialysis to join our hospital-based care teams. You will provide high-quality patient care across multiple locations, applying the nursing process and collaborating with the hemodialysis team to support patient recovery.

Requirements include RN license, nursing degree, 18 months dialysis experience, BLS and ACLS. We offer comprehensive benefits and in-person day/night shifts across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• RN license is required.
• Diploma/Associate/Bachelor’s or higher in nursing completed.
• Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred.
• 18 months of dialysis experience in acute care.
• BLS certification (American Red Cross or AHA).
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Care for dialysis patients in hospital settings using nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate care activities to health‑care team as appropriate.
• Support patient recovery and care throughout hospitalization.
• Monitor vitals and assessments, reporting changes to the care team.
• Identify sudden or subtle changes in patient condition.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain professional accountability and ongoing development.

• Pool - as needed - 4-12 hours shifts per 6-week time frame
• 2 weekend shifts per 6-weeks
• Day Shift - 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Night Shift - 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Always in person

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 18-month's experience in the Dialysis in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of Dialysis patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
