Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a registered nurse to provide direct nursing care in line with established policies. You will implement and monitor patient care plans, document patient conditions, and coordinate care across disciplines to ensure seamless, well-coordinated treatment.

The ideal candidate holds an Alabama RN license and a nursing diploma, with BLS within 30 days. The schedule is Mon-Fri 6-2 with extended hours and rotating call at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham.

Qualifications

• Must hold a nursing diploma and active RN licensure in Alabama.
• BLS Provider certification required within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care according to policies and procedures.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; document and communicate patient condition.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and execute physician and nursing orders.

Job Description

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
