Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• At least one year of Behavioral or ED patient care experience.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using judgment to intervene early and advocate for patients.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in clinical judgment.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed and supported for the next phase of care.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the EMR to promote continuity and patient safety.
• Contribute voice during interdisciplinary rounds to drive seamless communication and transitions of care.
• Take an active role in a collaborative team environment where shared accountability drives outcomes.
• Pursue continuing education and clinical ladder opportunities for long-term career progression.

ED Screening is the Behavioral Crisis Unit located in the ED. The dynamic team includes the Psychiatrist, RN, Screener and MHA.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS & PALS certification. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is at least one year current Behavioral or ED patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers 2 nights/week 7p-7:30a schedule, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
