Job summary

UAB Medicine\'s CVICU at UAB St. Vincent\'s East is hiring a registered nurse for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.

The role covers direct patient care for post-operative cardiac patients, including CABG and other complex surgeries, with emphasis on advanced monitoring and coordinated care. You will work nights on a 3-shift, 12-hour schedule and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement care plans, document patient status, and support discharge planning in a high-acuity

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient\'s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Education

Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing

Licensed as an Associate Professional Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at UAB St. Vincent's East is a n 8-bed unit specializ ing in post-operative care for patients recovering from coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and other complex cardiovascular surgeries. You will have an opportunity to work with advanced cardiac support devices and procedures like hemodynamic monitoring, providing a setting where staff can grow and thrive while deliver ing high quality care.

What You Will Do
