Job summary

UAB Medicine at UAB St. Vincent's St. Clair is seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts (3 x 12-hour nights, 7 p.m.–7 a.m.).

You will provide direct nursing care, coordinate care plans, document patient status, and support discharge planning, following policies and physician orders. Alabama RN licensure plus BLS/ACLS are required, with the Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire date.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire date.
• Alabama RN license must be active before hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care according to policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; communicate patient condition.
• Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

What You Will Do

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.
