Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks an ICU nurse for UAB St. Vincent's St. Clair to deliver direct care in a high-acuity setting. The role features full-time night shifts, (3) 12-hour blocks from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with PRN options, at a trusted Alabama hospital.

Responsibilities include implementing care plans, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and supporting discharge planning. Candidates must hold a nursing diploma and Alabama RN licensure, with BLS and ACLS within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date; ACLS within 6 months; Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

What You Will Do

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.
