Job summary

UAB St. Vincent's East is hiring an RN for the Cardiovascular ICU Stepdown (CVICU Stepdown). You will provide direct nursing care per hospital policies, implement care plans, and coordinate care across disciplines on a well‑coordinated team.

Requirements include an Alabama RN license, a nursing diploma, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. The role offers Full‑Time shifts (days, nights, weekends) and a benefits package with PTO, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; monitors, records and communicates patient condition.
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

Bonus: Up to $20,000.00 (For Full-Time, 7 On/7 Off, and Weekend Only positions)

Department: Cardiovascular ICU Stepdown - CVICU Stepdown

Schedule: Multiple Shifts Available

• Full-Time Days, 3 12-Hour Shifts, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
• Full-Time Nights, 3 12-Hour Shifts, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
• Full-Time Weekend Days, Saturday and Sunday, 2 12-Hour Shifts, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
• Full-Time Weekend Nights, Saturday and Sunday, 2 12-Hour Shifts, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
• PRN Days, 12-Hour Shifts, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

What You Will Do

What You Will Need

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
