Job summary

The Westerly Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health, is seeking a registered nurse to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles.

Under the direction of the nurse manager, you will assess patients, document findings, participate in staff development, and deliver compassionate, professional patient care while adhering to hospital policies and ensuring teamwork and timely attendance.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current state RN licensure.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable or within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the patient's physical and psychological condition continuously and document findings.
  • Adhere to Westerly Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Act as a clinical resource and role model for staff.
  • Participate in training and educational activities for staff members.
  • Provide high levels of customer service with professionalism and compassion.
  • Collaborate with team members and demonstrate strong teamwork.
  • Report to work on time and follow attendance policies.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Essential Functions
    • 1.1 Assesses the patient's physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. Documents appropriately the information obtained from the ongoing assessment. Shares significant assessment data with the appropriate discipline.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

Experience

Medical-surgical nursing, pediatrics, telemetry experience preferred.

LICENSURE

Current state registration. BLS required ACLS (Optional) PALS within one year of hire
